The shows Glamour editors are binging right now

Your afternoon is clear. You’re in your comfiest clothes. Snacks by your side. The weather outside is grey—or you’ve shut the blinds. We used to pray for times like these. The only thing you need? A show that you could watch for literal hours.  

You know the ones. They’re the shows that when the streaming service asks “are you still watching?” you click yes so fast you surprise yourself. They’re like a nice warm bath for your brain after a week (or even just a day) that took its toll.

Here at Glamour, we pride ourselves on our binge-watching abilities. Among us, there isn’t a classic binge we haven’t seen. From The Office to Grey’s Anatomy, Big Little Lies to Emily in Paris, we’ve seen it. 

Below, all the shows the Glamour team is binging right now.

Furious, Disney+

“I can’t believe more people aren’t obsessing over this show. The characters are complex, the performances are exhilarating, and, for a show about a serial killer taking down sex traffickers and the FBI agent trying to catch her, it’s weirdly funny?! That makes more sense when you realise that it’s the latest project from Elizabeth Meriwether, the creator of New Girl. There’s a scene in the fourth episode where a very performative male tries to explain the NYC free bus scheme that had me kicking my feet and giggling. Moments like that aren’t all that common—this show is as dark as it is compelling—but it’s the balance that makes this a show I can’t stop watching. And if Emmy Rossum and Lola Petticrew aren’t both nominated for Emmys, I walk.” — Charlie Calver, director of digital content

My Brilliant Career, Netflix

“It can be difficult to revisit a story that you know deep in your bones, as I do the tale of Miles Franklin's My Brilliant Career, both the 125-year-old Australian story and the 1979 film adaptation, starring Judy Davis and the late, great Sam Neill. This new Netflix adaptation manages to capture both the historic moment of the original text and all the unruly wildness of its heroine Sybylla, all while introducing her to a whole new generation. Sybylla's ambition to live a creative life on her own terms will always be relevant, and her portrayal in this series by Philippa Northeast is so true to the spirit of this legend of Australian literary history, it's like watching Miles (for whom Sybylla was deeply autobiographical) leap straight from the page.” — Hannah-Rose Yee, deputy editor and features director, Vogue Australia

Girls, HBO Max

“After finishing Lena Dunham’s memoir Famesick a couple of months ago, I felt myself wanting to rewatch the HBO show that made her famous and inarguably escapable for a moment during the 2010s. Diving back into the show—which debuted in 2012 and was one that I watched feverishly in my twenties—has been such a surprisingly fun trip back in time. Sure, the fashion, the iPhones, the gender politics and the cultural world at large has changed drastically since then, but Dunham’s writing has not aged. There is something so universal about the experience of being young, broke, and painfully myopic in your twenties.

Her dialogue, characterisations and witty turn-of-phrases still sing—one thing I think we all collectively forgot in the decade-plus since it aired was just how funny the show is. Hannah and Elijah’s argument over a glass of wine in a bar (Episode 4, Season 1) is one of the series’ most quotable moments. And the Robyn ‘Dancing on my Own’ needle drop that happens shortly thereafter? Iconic. Twin Peaks, Paramount + 

“I am finally getting around to watching the entirety of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, and I have absolutely loved every single second of it. Released in 1990 and a cult classic, I am incredibly late to the game in binging the series (There is also a movie!). I love a mystery and have become obsessed with the show’s obscurity. It touches on some scary things and definitely leans into horror at times, which I usually have a weak stomach for, but I genuinely can’t look away.” — Isabella Mamas, creative director

The Diplomat, Netflix

“I’m currently binge-watching The Diplomat, after recently finishing The Americans—which also featured Keri Russell as the lead. She’s such an underrated actress, and I was so impressed with her performance in each. Allison Janney also plays quite a major role, which was definitely another drawcard. It’s an interesting show with so many layers and subplots, and it manages to hold my full attention, which is no small feat these days.” — Angelica Xidias, shopping director

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Binge

When it comes to fashion and unhinged drama, there is simply no show that compares to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. It has made me a de-facto expert on Mormonism, a fan of a pop song called ‘Baby Gorgeous’ (if you know, you know), and served as a kind of unhinged escapist drama that’s far wilder than anything you could script. —Jonah Waterhouse, fashion news editor

Law and Order: SVU, Stan

“‘Dun-Dun’. Bury me with a boxed set of the first 10 or so seasons of Law and Order: SVU, honestly. It’s the longest-running primetime live-action series on American television for a reason! A failsafe nightly option to flick on when only some tough justice on crime will wash away the ails of the day. Mariska Hargitay is a titan of TV, and her character’s pairing with Christopher Meloni’s is the stuff of legend; I could watch them forever. The older seasons are peppered with hilarious one-liners, and for it to still be going with engaging content some 27-odd seasons later is incredible. I’m still finding myself stumbling on episodes I haven’t seen yet!” — Will Lennox, GQ head of brand

MobLand, Paramount +

“At the end of a long week of work, sometimes all you need to do is switch off and watch people whose job is quite literally life or death. Tom Hardy is flawless as gangland fixer Harry Da Souza in the crime drama that centres around the Harrigans, a brutal Irish mob family. The matriarch and cold-hearted gangland puppeteer Maeve is played by Helen Mirren, who proves once again why she is an absolute GOAT and deserves every one of her many acting accolades. MobLand is a little bit stressful to watch, but that’s precisely the point: I never pick up my phone and mindlessly scroll during an episode.” — Remy Rippon, Glamour editor
